It’s Valentine’s Day, so it is natural that our thoughts turn to love. Dr. Gary Chapman is famous for crafting the 5 Love Languages (TM) for personal relationships. Here is our version of the 5 Love Languages for Customer Service:
Understanding Their Pain – When you can clearly name the thing that your customer most needs to change, they will feel heard and understood. When you use their language to describe their problem, they know that you “get it.”
High Quality – Your job is to you meet your customer’s needs better than anyone else ever has. Your solution needs to be the perfect fit for their problem.,,and the customer needs to believe this both before and after you make the sale.
High Value – Your customer should receive high value for the money and time you are asking them to invest. Your product or service does not need to be the cheapest or easiest — it needs to be the best return on the client’s investment! What makes your product or service unique? THAT is what builds your value.
Commitment to Service – Go the extra mile to make sure that your customer is satisfied. Follow-up, resolve complaints quickly and ALWAYS be concerned with the total customer experience.
Consistency and Reliability –– Delivering high quality and high value consistently is important for keeping the customer coming back. Do what you say you will do, when you say you will do it. Successful businesses can afford to offer money-back guarantees because they don’t need to give money back very often!
Love your customers and they will love you! Happy Valentine’s Day!
